Take Your Services to Clickriver

If you haven’t heard of Clickriver yet, now’s the time to become familiar with it!  Clickriver can be a great addition to a search initiative for clients who fall into the service vertical.  When a service provider runs ads with Clickriver, their ads will be listed alongside related products on Amazon.com and DPReview.com.  For example, when someone is on Amazon looking at a product, say televisions, Erika’s TV Repair could run Clickriver ads along side the televisions being sold on Amazon.

Advertising with Clickriver allows a client to reach a premier, educated and Internet savvy audience.  As Clickriver notes on their website, Nielsen Online states Amazon.com customers are 49% more likely to purchase online than your average search engine users.

Clickriver offers a wide variety of service categories including, but not limited to, exercise and fitness, travel, pet care, debt consolidation, tutoring and technology education.  The creation and management of an account in Clickriver is similar to a typical Search account in Business.com.  Your Search team would help to determine and set a daily budget, choose the geographical locations to be targeted, determine which category to align ads with, write the ad creative and implement tracking.

Many times, I see clients start paid search in the big three or four general engines, and then once their traffic and profits have maxed, they will look to other vertical or niche search mediums.   I don’t necessarily feel this is always the best approach and would encourage clients to test engines, such as Clickriver, sooner rather than later.  By doing this, you get quick learnings, in most cases, improved results, and you don’t spend a year wondering “what if.”  This product has great potential to be a valuable addition to a well-functioning SEM program.
